Core functions

The Swiss AGO is a Working Group within the Swiss Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics (SGGG).

The Swiss AGO supports quality care for patients suffering from cancer of the reproductive organs and breasts, conducts clinical studies, organises training sessions, and develops educational material in this area for Patients. Its members are gynaecologists with a profound interest in gynaecological oncology. In the extended board, specialists representing additional fields can have a seat as well.

Within the framework of the tasks performed by the Swiss Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics, the AGO focusses specifically on the clinical, scientific and organisational concerns of gynaecological oncology, including breast cancer. It addresses these topics at the Swiss Society for Gynaecology and Obstetrics, as well as within the Swiss Working Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK). The AGO pursues exclusively activities of public interest. For the purpose of improving trial performance, the Swiss AGO has founded his own trial group, the Swiss GO Trial Group.
